Vacation Spotlight: Portland, ME

June 25, 2018

Back in April my husband and I took the opportunity to travel East. And a long weekend in the New England region gave us 2-nights in Portland, ME.

Portland is only a town of roughly 66,000, but it is full of itinerary gems especially for our foodie travelers. With limited time in the city we focused on eating and drinking our way through.

My husband is a huge seafood fan and a commonly heard phrase during the weekend was

"this is the best (fill in the blank) I've ever had." Lobster, fish, oysters - this is a city where restaurants craft incredible seafood dishes. Have no fear, if you aren't a seafood lover like myself Portland is anything but a one-note restaurant city.

Every foodie knows it isn't all about the #eeeeeats but also the #draaaaanks, and let me tell you this city is bountiful in options. I mean, the city that has a fermentation brewery (pictured below). Coffee, kombucha, cocktails, beer - you name it, Portland's got it.

At MLJ Vacay we always say a successful vacation can best be summed up in the photos you take to capture your trip.  Here is visual 'taste' of why we love Portland, ME  as your next vacay destination.
